About

Linda Abrahams is an artist originally from London, UK now living and working in the beautiful county of Kent. Linda has had a forty year career as a retail and exhibition display consultant and since graduating with a Fine Arts degree in 2001 she has been a practising artist – giving artist talks, accepting commissions, curating her own exhibitions, taking part in open calls and volunteering one day a week at the Fashion and Textile Museum in London. She has held a life long passion for textiles and her body of work reflects this passion. Her work is big, bold, colourful, semi abstract, created by stitching shapes onto cotton fabric and then stretching onto a canvas as you would a painting  – ” velvet is my oil paint, silk my watercolour, cotton my acrylic”

“Turn off the mind and look at things only with your eyes, ultimately everything becomes abstract”
Ellsworth Kelly

“Empty space has no other function than to make life possible”
